☆ March Madness: Top seeds for men and women’s 2024 NCAA basketball tournament announced for Selection Sunday

The other top seeds for the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament are the Purdue Boilermakers, North Carolina Tar Heels and Houston Cougars. 2 seeds are Iowa State Cyclones, Marquette Golden Eagles, Tennessee Volunteers and Arizona Wildcats. Thirty-two teams automatically qualified in both the men’s and women’s tournament by virtue of winning their respective conference tournaments. Now that Selection Sunday is all but over, there are only two days for fans to fill out their brackets before the men’s tournament begins on March 19 and the women’s tournament begins the day after. Angel ReeseAngel Reese is another of the tournament’s biggest stars, following her crucial role in propelling LSU to its first ever women’s college basketball title last year.

Baylor University's $2 billion endowment — a fraction of those in the Ivy League — generated a 6.4% return for the fiscal year that ended June 30, outperforming the entire conference. Morehead joined the university in 2011, and since fiscal 2012, Baylor's endowment has more than doubled. The key to Baylor's endowment success, according to Chief Investment Officer David Morehead, is taking advantage of dislocations in the market. This increase comes as endowment returns have rebounded nationally. Endowment returns were up 7.7% in fiscal 2023, per the latest study by the National Association of College and University Business Officers and Commonfund.

MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Kentucky Supreme Court has suspended an Eastern Kentucky prosecutor who promised to help a defendant in exchange for nude photos. Although the court temporarily suspended him, it said in its Friday order that only the General Assembly can remove Goldy from office through impeachment, the Courier Journal reported. The newspaper previously reported that Goldy exchanged 230 pages of Facebook messages with a female defendant. Goldy testified at a Sept. 8 hearing that he didn’t remember sending the messages but did not deny having done so. The woman has testified that in exchange for photos, Goldy withdrew warrants and had cases continued.
